Our History

Our History

Established in 1929 by two brothers, Benjamin and Nathan Berger, The Berger Organization has evolved from an owner/operator of nearly 25 apartment and rooming houses throughout the Bronx, Manhattan, Rockland County, and Jersey City, to one of the region's leading real estate development and management companies.

The inspiration to redefine the company's core business is traced back to its original founders, both of whom maintained a strong sense of morality and concern for others, whether it be employees, tenants or neighbors. This guiding philosophy is evident in virtually every facet of The Berger Organization's business model.

Under the direction of Miles Berger, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, along with his brother, Bruce Berger, President, the company has significantly contributed toward the revitalization of Newark. Recently, Miles' son, Brendan, joined the company to spearhead leasing operations at Sixty Park Place, Newark's renowned Military Park Building, and oversee the company's entire Park Place portfolio. In addition, the company also maintains New York operations at its headquarters in Queens, N.Y., under the leadership of Solomon Berger and Benjamin Berger, who oversee 20 properties throughout the boroughs.

Today, the company employs approximately 220 staff members, many of whom have a tenure of 25 years or more. The Berger Organization remains committed to the same personal and professional philosophy of its founding fathers' to uphold the highest level of personal principles and business values as well as a genuine concern for all employees and their families.
