BRENDAN BERGER JOINS THE BERGER ORGANIZATION AS VICE PRESIDENT
Summit, N.J., Resident Oversees 500,000+ SF on Park Place in Newark, N.J.
NEWARK, N.J., Feb. 20, 2008 - Brendan Berger has been named vice president of The Berger Organization, a privately owned diversified real estate company based in Newark, N.J. The firm's portfolio includes more than 1 million square feet of residential, commercial and hospitality properties throughout northern New Jersey and New York City.
In his new role, the Summit, N.J., resident manages the company's Newark Park Place holdings, which exceed 500,000 square feet. Properties include the luxurious Robert Treat Hotel; Robert Treat Center; Ten Park Place/Fireman's Insurance Company Building; and Sixty Park Place/Military Park Building.

Berger's strategic oversight responsibilities include supervising all property leasing and management services, including lease administration, review and negotiations; facility and construction management; upgrades and retrofits; market analysis; design and transaction support.
Currently, The Berger Organization is finalizing plans for an aggressive $5 million renovation project at its newest acquisition, the historic Military Park Building. The 250,000-square-foot, 21-story office tower is in the heart of Newark's central business district near the New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) and the city's extensive transportation infrastructure. The property underwent a comprehensive refurbishment in 2001 that included mechanical upgrades, new windows and exterior restoration of the 83-year-old property. Renovations are planned for the lobby and core building as well as the elevators.

In addition to The Berger Organization's commercial and hotel properties, the company is involved with marketing the former three-acre Newark Holiday Inn site as a major development site for a mixed-use transportation hub complex as well as converting the Griffith and Hahne buildings on Broad Street into luxury residential apartments that include a retail component and indoor garage.
